Cristal is Louis Roederer’s flagship, its most famous, vintage Champagne. It is a meticulously blended Chardonnay (around 40%) and Pinot noir (around 60%) cuvée and aged for 6 years in Louis Roederer’s cellars. That, and left for a further 8 months after dégorgement. Fun fact: It was created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II!

Why Cristal is popular is because of its profile - concentrated white fruit and citrus, a creamy mid‑palate from extended lees contact, then a saline, stony finish. Its texture is silky with persistent fine bubbles. It's one that retains youthful acidity even after decades in the bottle.

Considered as one of the world's most prestigious and highest-rated luxury cuvées, it's no surprise that Cristal has received many awards over the years. For seven consecutive years, Drinks International named it the #1 most admired Champagne brand globally. Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate frequently gives its vitntages scores between 95 and 98 points.
