What Vodka is Gluten-Free?

It is absolutely possible to have gluten-free vodka! Some popular brands include Gray Goose vodka gluten free, Platinum Vodka gluten-free, American Harvest vodka gluten free, and Wheatley Vodka gluten free. You may ask “how is Platinum vodka gluten-free?” or “how is American harvest gluten free?” and the answer is simple. They are crafted using corn and quinoa respectively, and there’s no gluten in either of those grains!

But what about the question of “how is Wheatly vodka gluten free?” or Grey Goose Vodka? Though Gluten-free vodkas may also sometimes be known as wheat-free vodka, it actually doesn’t have to technically be “wheat free” to be considered gluten-free. The distillation process of many wheat-derived vodkas, such as in Grey Goose and Wheatly, is so intense that the gluten is completely broken down and no longer exists.

Some Popular Gluten-Free Alcohol Recipes

More people have switched to a Gluten-Free diet recently, especially due to the pandemic. Gluten-free recipes are trending online and people choose to make the switch to keep their sugar count down. Here are some popular recipes one may want to try.

The Bee’s Knees Cocktail only takes five minutes to make. This cocktail is dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free, vegetarian, nut-free, and soy-free. The ingredients are 1tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp room-temperature water, 1 ½ oz of gin, 1 ½ tbsp of fresh lemon juice, and ice. Mix the honey with water in a cocktail shaker stirring until the honey is dissolved. Add gin and lemon juice and fill the shaker with ¾ full of ice. Cover and shake until chilled, about 20 seconds. Strain the cocktail into a glass and garnish with a lemon twist or mint.

The Bee’s Knees is a cocktail that has a botanical flavor of gin and citrus. Some floral notes of honey bring a sweet taste to the palate giving the cocktail a refreshing and pleasing taste. One can consider this more like an antioxidant cocktail and a cleanse to your body.

Frozen Mojito happens to be a great cocktail that brings out a variety of tropical flavors. The cocktail is dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free, has low-carbohydrates, vegetarian, nut-free, and soy-free. One needs 3oz of white rum, 3 tbsp of simple syrup, 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice, ½ C of fresh mint leaves and sprigs for garnish, 2 ½ C of ice cubes, and ¼ C of seltzer or club soda. Add ice, rum, simple syrup, lime juice, mint, and seltzer/soda water to a blender. Blend until the ice has become crushed and slushy. Use 2 Tom Collins glasses or another tall glass and garnish with mint sprigs or serve as is.

Frozen Mojitos carry a minty fresh and citrusy taste which is great to drink on a hot summer day or night. The Cuban cocktail has been popular for nearly a century. The slushie-like cocktail carries a tangy and bright flavor. The freshly squeezed lime juice sits with the white rum to bring a zesty and awakening flavor to the palate. The seltzer/soda water leaves a bubbly and uplifting sensation. The garnish brings a fresh and powerful taste which makes the cocktail more enjoyable.
