Description

Three Finger Jack gets its name from the legend of the notorious Old West desperado of the Sierras. Known for losing two fingers, Three Finger Jack is also said to have died somewhere within the foothills of the California Gold Country. Located 75 miles east of San Francisco in Lodi California, the vineyards were planted over a century ago by pioneers. The hot days, cool river delta breezes and sandy soils of the region make for old, strong vines with root structures sprawling deep into the earth. Just as their namesake carried the riches he relentlessly sought, so does Three Finger Jack in the land of Lodi. Three Finger Jack Chardonnay 2020 comes from the California Gold Country of Sierra Mountain foothills. This Chardonnay is rich and full-bodied with complex and enticing aromas of toasted almond, white flowers, and a touch of whisky barrel. Exposed to the high heat afternoons of Lodi, the palate offers intensely ripe fruit flavors of mango, fig, pear and marshmallow. The finish is long, bright and silky, with a beautiful balance of creamy butterscotch and natural acidity. For pairing, the team at CWS suggests veal with a creamy sauce or try with a roasted lobster bisque.
