Description

Family-owned and operated, Rombauer Vineyards was founded in 1980 by Koerner and Joan Rombaer in the Napa Valley and Sierra Foothills. Their first releases, California-style Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, came out in 1984, the first of many in the four following decades. Acclaimed for their High-quality and fruit-forward characteristics, Rombauer Vineyards aims to capture distinctive expressions of the territory. Rombauer Chardonnay 2021 is a vintage with a limited amount available, but with a premium quality from the growing season. After harvest, pressing and fermentation, this chardonnay was aged in one-third new American and French oak barrels for nine months. On the nose are bright aromas of lemon, chamomile, clove, yellow peach and vanilla. These aromas carry over into the rich and concentrated palate with a rounded creamy mouthfeel which is lifted with its acidity and sweet fruit flavors. The finish lingers and invites another sip as it develops. For pairing, the team at CWS suggests grilled Halibut or smoky buttered shrimp.
