Description

Founded by Mike and Robin Tiller in the 1980s, Isabel Estate is located in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough, New Zealand. While flying over the patch of land that would become Isabel Estate, Mike witnessed the fertile and unique qualities that later led to high quality varietals and premium wines. Named in honor of his mother, the estate upholds their commitment to quality through their viticulture, craftsmanship and careful production process. Later releasing their single-vineyard wine in 1994, the New Zealand Estate would go on to develop a winery where they continue to present ultra-premium wines to this day. Isabel Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2020 exemplifies the Marlborough terroir in tandem with the well-rooted vines and southwestern soils of the estate. After being harvested in the cool morning, each block was picked, pressed with a period of skin contact and separately fermented in stainless steel and five percent french oak barrels for texture and complexity. On the nose are hints of citrus, grapefruit, lemongrass and passionfruit. The palate is richly layered with tropical and citrus notes and a creamy feel before a refreshing minerality on the finish.
