The Glenmorangie distillery was established on the Dornoch Firth in Scotland in 1843 by brothers William and John Matheson. Glenmorangie has honed its craft for nearly 175 years, perfecting its unique delicate nature and fruitiness while imparting an array of flavor in each of their whiskeys. Glenmorangie’s A Tale of Winter whisky captures the snug and magical feel of a warm winter fireplace. Finished with a 13 year old malt aged in Marsala wine casks from Sicily, the flavors are rich and radiant. The aromas are poignant, with fruity top-notes mingling with hints of orange toffee, lavender honey and sweet rose. The palate has full-bodied viscosity and a light peppery tingle leading into flavors of cocoa powder, red pepper, brazil nut toffee, and sweet barley malt. The flavors culminate with a long, lingering finish with cinnamon, ginger and clove dancing on the tongue. Sip this whisky by a fire on a cold winter's night, or enjoy anytime to reminisce that cozy winter feel.
