Description

Harken’s founder, Jeff, wanted to bring back the classic California Chardonnay taste, without faking. So, Harken barrel ferments, barrel ages, and hands stirs every batch. They also source premium grapes from premium Chardonnay growing regions: Monterey, Clarksburg, and Paso Robles. To create a rich Chardonnay with a classic tropical fruit and oak profile, Harken Chardonnay is 100% barrel fermented. After spending 7 months in 60% American and 40% French oak, it has 7 g/L of residual sugar. It has pleasant aromas of buttered corn, apple, pear, and a hint of baking spice, and the palette is a balance of buttery and toasty with both orchard and tropical fruits. The finish is dry, long and toasty with lingering notes of oak and fruit. For pairing, the team at CWS suggests grilled salmon or chicken in a cream sauce.
