When in the mood for a tasty drink, look no further than your own home to create the perfect cocktail of your dreams, and maybe impress a person or two.
For a delicious drink that has a beautiful color, have ‘The Irish Redhead.’ It’s made with 3 oz. Irish whiskey, ¾ oz. grenadine, ¼ oz. lemon juice, ¼ oz. lime juice, 5 oz. lemon-lime soda, and a lime wheel for garnish. Combine the Irish whiskey, grenadine, lemon juice, lime juice, and lemon-lime soda in an ice-filled glass; mix well, and then garnish with a colorful lime wheel.
Have a drink with a spicy and bitter but yummy taste; a ‘Glasgow cocktail’ is simple and luxurious. It’s made with 3 dashes of bitters, 1 part dry vermouth, 3 dashes pastis, and 1 part scotch whiskey. Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes, add all of the ingredients, stir, and then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Living on the East Coast, ‘The Brooklyn Cocktail’; has become quite popular. It’s made with 2 oz. rye whiskey, 1 oz. dry vermouth, ¼ oz. maraschino liqueur, and ¼ oz. Amer Picon, or a few dashes Angostura or orange bitters. Combine all of the ingredients with ice and stir well until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve.
There is nothing better than making a drink that is quick and tasty; a ‘Whiskey Sour’ is that drink. It’s made with 2 oz. whiskey, 1 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 1 oz. simple syrup (or honey/agave). Shake all of the ingredients with ice until chilled, strain, and then serve and enjoy. This drink has a bit of sour and a bit of sweet that mix really well together on the palate to give you a nice cocktail to enjoy for the night.
