The world is waiting for shimmering drinks as a drink that tastes good and leaves a pleasant feeling is no longer enough for us. People love to have a visual aspect to their cocktail experience and we believed that the little paper umbrellas were used to offer the appeal. However, E&J Gallo Corporation delivers an entirely different statement with their new spirit and wine combination, VINIQ, calling it “America’s first premium shimmery liqueur.”
According to the manufacturers, “VINIQ is the first of its kind liqueur created to offer on-trend Millennial consumers a new spirit with a unique look. Just shake the bottle and watch it shimmer. It is a fusion of premium vodka, Moscato, and natural fruit flavors, that tastes great and looks glamorous. The unique shimmer in VINIQ is the same ingredient that gives frosting its shine on your favorite cake or the sparkle in rock candy and is safe to consume.”
Marketing of the drink is completed fixed on its shimmer, as the label directions reads, “shake well before serving” and “shake to shimmer”. The label also reads, “Captivate your friends with the drink that shimmers when you shake it. Refreshingly delicious and smooth with the shimmering appearance that dazzles.”
VINIQ blends Moscato wine and vodka to 20% ABV level and is available around twenty dollars per bottle. It is said that the drink was made after five years of experimentation. “We started investigating ways to add spice to cocktails to make it more breakthrough, noticeable and exciting for consumers,” says marketing manager Jason Wiedemann. “We eventually landed on this shimmer… It looks very mysterious in the bottle.”
It is mica powder that offers the shimmer to the drink. Mica is “a mineral used in baking and cosmetics to give things a pearlescent sheen.” This sparkly beverage is available in three flavors, Original, Ruby, and Glow.
Original is purple in color and has hints of berries, peach and citrus, Ruby has the color and flavor of red berries, and Glow is orange in color and has the flavor of peach. VINIQ is available on retail as well as online liquor stores. You won’t be able to find any negative remarks about the drink either, which is a proof how much people admire VINIQ.
