It’s not often you see people mixing beer and liquor, and you’ve probably even been told that it’ll make you sick! But these beer cocktail recipes are an easy way to enjoy your favorite beers while blending the world of bartending and craft brewing. Whether you’re looking for something light and refreshing or dark and intense, Country Wine & Spirits has the perfect beer cocktail recipe for you!

Michelada

A refreshing take on the way you drink Mexican beer (think Corona, Estrella de Jalisco, and Tecate), an authentic Michelada is tart, slightly sweet, salty, and flavorful. There are quite a few ways to prepare a Michelada, but this method is brought to you by the Bon Appetit kitchen. Perfect for batch serving, this recipe will allow guests to enjoy a chill Michelada that they can reach for, again and again. Serves 8.

Ingredients:

4 cups of chilled Clamato ( or one 32oz. bottle)

3 bottles of your favorite chilled Mexican Lager (12 oz. bottles)

½ cup of fresh lime juice

1 ½ tsps of Worcestershire Sauce

1 tsp of your favorite hot sauce (Tabasco)

1 tsp of Maggi Seasoning (or other bouillon)

Tajin for the salt rim

Lime wedges for serving

  1. Mix the Clamato, Mexican Beer, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and Maggi Seasoning in a large pitcher.
  2. Rub your pint glass with a lime wedge before dipping the glass in Tajin.
  3. Fill each glass with ice and add your Michelada mix.
  4. Garnish with a lime and enjoy!

Black Velvet

Dark beer and champagne may seem like unlikely bedfellows, but they make an exotic cocktail called the Black Velvet. With a careful pouring hand, you can create a beautiful layer of sparkling wine topped with a black foamy head from the beer. The trick is to use a bar spoon to pour the stout and disrupt the beer flow. With only two ingredients needed, this full and luscious cocktail is sure to take you behind the velvet rope and surprise you.

Ingredients:

4 oz. of chilled Guinness Extra Stout

4 oz. of your favorite chilled champagne ( we recommend Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne)

  1. Pour your champagne into a fluted glass and fill halfway.
  2. Using the back of a bar spoon, slowly pour the stout over the champagne until it full.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Raspberry Spritzer Cooler

This recipe comes from Stella Artois themselves, and showcases their Stella Artois Spritzer line! Blending crisp Stella Artois with raspberries and lime will leave you feeling refreshed after a hot summer day.

Ingredients:

One 8oz Stella Artois Spritzer

½ oz of lime juice

6-8 raspberries

2 sprigs of cilantro

1 tsp honey

  1. Add raspberries, lime juice, cilantro, honey, and 2oz of Stella Artois Spritzer into your cocktail shaker. Want a more developed infusion? We suggest muddling your ingredients together before adding the Stella.
  2. Shake over ice until chilled.
  3. Pour your cocktail into a glass before topping with the other 6 oz of Stella Artois Spritzer.
  4. Garnish with a fresh raspberry and enjoy!
