Appleton Estate 8 Year Old Reserve is inspired by the vibrancy of Jamaica and considered one of the distillery's most versatile expressions of their aged rum line. The aroma of this 8 year old rum reveals spicy fruit and oak that are followed by hints of honey, vanilla, and signature orange peel. Bottled at an ABV of 43%, Appleton Estate Reserve 8 Year is a blend of rums aged at a minimum of 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels. The nose reveals notes of banana, coconut, and a splash of pineapple hidden behind toffee, and caramel. Sweet and honeyed aromas quickly open towards a nice burst of spice on the first sip as it moves from black pepper, ginger, and warm oak and vanilla back to hints of cream, and banana fruit and green apple. The finish is long and spicy, making this rum well balanced and the perfect everyday sipper or premium rum mixer at a great price.
