Description

As one of the oldest Champagne Houses founded in 1760, Lanson draws upon family heritage and expertise passed through the generations of the Lanson men and women. For 260 years they have honed their unique and authentic style through sustaining a superior vineyard, vinifying according to the traditional champagne principles, maintaining a collection of rare reserve wines, and aging in cellars for longer periods. The current head winemaker, Hervé Dantan, is known for crafting wines which are characterized by their incomparable freshness, fruitiness and liveliness. Lanson Le Black Label Brut Champagne is no exception and is crafted using a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier which includes vintages dating back to 1995. Lanson Le Black Label opens with a fresh bouquet of apple, peach, earthiness, and fresh baked bread. The palate is full-bodied with delicate acidity and fine bubbles leading into a long and complex finish. This polished brut is wonderful for any celebratory occasion and for pairing, the team at CWS Suggests a mushroom risotto or a soft cheese such as Brie.
