When you are ready for Halloween, be sure to remember to make the cocktails! There are fun and colorful drinks to liven up any party. A ‘Midnight’s Shadow’ is strong and filled with espresso. To make it, you would mix ¼ cup of ground espresso or coffee with Sugar Island Spiced Rum at room temperature. Let the mixture soak for thirty minutes, and the strain it. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 2 parts espresso-infused rum and ½ part fresh lime juice. Shake and strain into a Collins glass. Top with ½ part ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wheel and candied ginger. It’s a pretty drink with a bit of a science feel to it. If you like making your drink all about the holiday then you will love a ‘Ghoulish Gin-ger Ale.’ To make it, you will take a glass filled with ice, and then combine 4 ounces of ginger ale and 2 ounces of gin. After that, you will top with 2-3 dashes of cranberry bitters. Gently pour 1 oz. grenadine around the inside edge of the glass and garnish with scary accessories. For an even cooler look and added flavor, add ice that has fruit frozen inside of it that will make it looks like eyes in your glass. There is never enough fun to be had for Halloween, but adding some yummy drinks makes it even more interesting. You can make a drink called ‘The Haunting.’ You will stir together 2 ounces Santa Teresa “1796” Solera Aged Rum, ¾ oz. Krogstad Aquavit, ¾ oz. Pedro Ximenez, and 2 dashes Xocolatl Mole Bitters. Pour into a cocktail glass, and then garnish with an orange twist. Put in into a skeleton shaped glass for added fun. The ‘Graveyard Gruel’ is for fans of pineapple. Ina cocktail shaker filled with ice, you will combine 1 ¼ ounces Courvoisier VSOP, ¾ ounces DeKuyper Root beer Schnapps, and 1 oz. of pineapple juice. Shake and strain into a glass, and then garnish with a cherry. It has so much flavor that your guests will keep coming back for more. Enjoy your treats.
